Your first fuse bead pattern: start small.

The best first chart is one you can read clearly and prepare without guessing. Start with a small shape, a short color list, and a board that fits the whole grid.

Choose the chart before buying supplies

PinDo’s Tiny makes collection has six original 16 × 16 charts with fewer than 100 beads and no more than three colors. Open a pattern and compare its color key with beads you already own. A small chart reduces sorting and placement work; it does not guarantee a physically strong finished piece.

Check the board and bead size together

The starter catalog uses a ten-color Perler 5 mm palette. Its square-board calculations assume a 29 × 29 pegboard. A 16 × 16 chart fits within that grid, but mini beads need a different compatible board. Do not substitute another bead size just because the colors look similar.

Read one row at a time

Open the making chart, turn on symbols when nearby colors are difficult to distinguish, and use color focus to find every bead of one color. Mark completed placements as you go. Reloading the same browser and origin resumes saved placement progress.

Keep placement and fusing separate

Placement estimates exclude ironing, cooling, and finishing. Follow the manufacturer’s instructions for your exact materials, with an adult handling the iron. The original starter charts are digital designs with physical tests still pending. Record your own making observations and a finished photo rather than treating a completed grid as a tested result.
